Complete LGB Railway for Sale.

Here will be the whole setup, track, rolling stock and locos. Some items are of particular interest (collector's items?) due to their age and superb condition. This belonged to a rail-fan and Model Engineer, and as far as I can tell was never permanently set up, certainly never outside. It has come to me for disposal, ALL receipts will be returned to the family. Collection, if at all possible, is far preferred to postage (persons so doing are very welcome to bring a battery/steam powered loco for a run on the T.V.B.L at the same time. I'm sure the kettle can be cajoled into service) [Post code ST4, 5 mins from J15 M6]. Reciprocal arrangements might be made by agreement. I don't have time to put it all up at once so intend to start with the locos, then the rolling stock and then the track, but will continue as time allows. I hope this stands well with the Mods and they can accept the bend in the rules of No of items.

I will do my best to describe the condition of each item though some details may be lacking as I'm not an LGB man, so I expect many questions through the Conversations/Private Messages system (top right, first icon next your mini avatar), rather than here in the post, as it might cause it to get a bit bloated. If it subsequently shows that something could be described better I will happily alter the listings to suit.

We are not allowed to auction items on here so I have (I hope) set prices that can be adjusted if you really do think them unreasonable, again through Conversations, but please remember the reason for the sale, this is also on the basis that I cant go up, and I've found accurate valuation difficult for various reasons.

Note : All items have only a 4 digit catalogue numbers commensurate with their age, and also have the old style couplings, unless otherwise stated.

2020 Stainz. This is probably the gem of the collection (collector's item?). It is an early Growler, without skates, it comes with a slightly damaged buff coloured box. The loco is probably in as near pristine condition as could be found for one of it's type and age. There are just about signs on the wheels that it has been run (tested?). The paint has worn off the tip of the driver's elbow where it has rubbed on the box, other than that I can find no fault. I have tested it and it runs and the lights work. £100.

2060 C class Shoema. Good condition, a little dusty. All hand rails complete, small damage to the edges of the exhaust vent top. Wear to both skates (through the plating). Obviously fairly well used, but seemingly not abused. It has NO box. Tested and a runner. Lights work. £85

2070 U class. 0-6-2 Tank Loco. Generally good condition, no skates, a little grubby underneath showing some use. Driver present. Slight damage to front snow shovel. Needs new traction tyre (gone hard). One front lamp not working (bulb?). Tested and a runner. Comes in a yellow box. £130 Sold

2075 "Kleine Dicke". 0-4-0 Tank Loco. Again, in lovely condition. Has seen some use, shown by the skates, in fact if it wasn't for that I'd say pristine. Both piston-rod guides intact. Comes in a yellow box. £80 Sold.

Price adjustment for those hanging back.

Thank YOU John, that's a good load gone to a good home, I can nearly move in my office now.

It's always good to meet up with folk from the forum, faces to names etc. Coffee was a bonus.

There are a few bits spoken for, but still a few looking for someone to love. I don't want to have to put it on eBay as then it'll ALL have to packed and posted (probably will anyway:giggle::giggle:).

It's been quiet on here for a day or two now, so more price reductions. Marked in red.

There will come a time were it will be better to risk it all on eBay (I hope NOT!) than keep reducing the prices.

If the prices don't suit then make an offer, it all HAS to go, one way or another.

Coaches well received G-force1, Thanks.
Good communications, excellent service. (sounds like eBay feedback!)

Many thanks Stockers. Deal well done. I hope the kids enjoy them.

Bump! Also some price adjustments.

A few further price reductions. Don't be shy, make an offer, I don't want the Ebay hassle.

Understand why you do not want to face the hastle of Ebay, I have given up with it these days. Not quite sure of your location, but if you do not want the hastle of selling yourself you could try Tennants of Halesowen who sell plenty of 2nd Hand LGB. Hattons might be worth a punt they will give you a price back based on email. Look at their website. Used them to clear some of my deceaced mates Digital Kit. Prices were not brilliant, but the deal was quick and painless.

Ebay and Paypal is now very geared towards the buyer - any hassle and the money is refunded to the buyer even in rather dodgy situations.

And all the setting up and waiting for end dates, answering loads inane questions, etc. Not fun in my book.

I would like the two coaches please - posted to a mainland UK address. Forgotten how to PM so if you could PM me?

Hi Guys ('n' Gals). I am now down to only two items unspoken for so I thought a re-list might help, especially with a few more detail pics.

First we have the Stainz, which I have to say I didn't expect to hang about. I really is very good for something that is practically an antique.

LGB 2020 (4)a (407 x 600).jpg

LGB 2020 (1)a (600 x 369).jpg

This last one shows the wear from the box, on the driver's elbow, very slight, only the paint.

LGB 2020 (2)a (600 x 375).jpg

It is definitely a 'growler' and I would suggest a re-lube of the gear-box etc. before serious use.

The box has sustained some damage, but is still serviceable. Extra cardboard will be used for protection when packing.

Currently priced at £80, but any offer will be considered.

SOLD
The other loco in the following post.

Now for the 2060. Again in remarkable condition for it's age.

LGB 2060 (2)a (600 x 444).jpg

LGB 2060 (3)a (600 x 446).jpg

LGB 2060 (6)a (420 x 600).jpg

LGB 2060 (7)a (449 x 600).jpg

LGB 2060 (4)a (600 x 450).jpg

The wear on the skates is a bit more than through the plating showing that this has been well used, but condition says not abused.

LGB 2060 (4)b (600 x 434).jpg

The minor damage to the roof vent would be an easy fix.

LGB 2060 (5)a (600 x 420).jpg

No box with this one.

Currently priced at £60, but again any offer will be considered.

SOLD
