Here will be the whole setup, track, rolling stock and locos. Some items are of particular interest (collector's items?) due to their age and superb condition. This belonged to a rail-fan and Model Engineer, and as far as I can tell was never permanently set up, certainly never outside. It has come to me for disposal, ALL receipts will be returned to the family. Collection, if at all possible, is far preferred to postage (persons so doing are very welcome to bring a battery/steam powered loco for a run on the T.V.B.L at the same time. I'm sure the kettle can be cajoled into service) [Post code ST4, 5 mins from J15 M6]. Reciprocal arrangements might be made by agreement. I don't have time to put it all up at once so intend to start with the locos, then the rolling stock and then the track, but will continue as time allows. I hope this stands well with the Mods and they can accept the bend in the rules of No of items.

I will do my best to describe the condition of each item though some details may be lacking as I'm not an LGB man, so I expect many questions through the Conversations/Private Messages system (top right, first icon next your mini avatar), rather than here in the post, as it might cause it to get a bit bloated. If it subsequently shows that something could be described better I will happily alter the listings to suit.

We are not allowed to auction items on here so I have (I hope) set prices that can be adjusted if you really do think them unreasonable, again through Conversations, but please remember the reason for the sale, this is also on the basis that I cant go up, and I've found accurate valuation difficult for various reasons.

Note : All items have only a 4 digit catalogue numbers commensurate with their age, and also have the old style couplings, unless otherwise stated.

2020 Stainz. This is probably the gem of the collection (collector's item?). It is an early Growler, without skates, it comes with a slightly damaged buff coloured box. The loco is probably in as near pristine condition as could be found for one of it's type and age. There are just about signs on the wheels that it has been run (tested?). The paint has worn off the tip of the driver's elbow where it has rubbed on the box, other than that I can find no fault. I have tested it and it runs and the lights work. £100.

LGB 2020a (600 x 517).jpg

2060 C class Shoema. Good condition, a little dusty. All hand rails complete, small damage to the edges of the exhaust vent top. Wear to both skates (through the plating). Obviously fairly well used, but seemingly not abused. It has NO box. Tested and a runner. Lights work. £85

LGB 2060 (600 x 450).jpg

2070 U class. 0-6-2 Tank Loco. Generally good condition, no skates, a little grubby underneath showing some use. Driver present. Slight damage to front snow shovel. Needs new traction tyre (gone hard). One front lamp not working (bulb?). Tested and a runner. Comes in a yellow box. £130 Sold

2075 "Kleine Dicke". 0-4-0 Tank Loco. Again, in lovely condition. Has seen some use, shown by the skates, in fact if it wasn't for that I'd say pristine. Both piston-rod guides intact. Comes in a yellow box. £80 Sold.

Henri, I replied through Conversations.

I might be interested in both 3061's. Can you please estimate shipping to the Netherlands...? Thank you!
Please put me on reserve after Henri for both 3061's. Thanks

Nice Listings!

It may help you to know that the early coaches should all have their four digit catalogue number moulded in the body, in the balcony area near the roof, at one end.

If you check you will see that the all green 3007 is really another 3010, whilst when you find the real 3007 it will be a light brown ZB coach, and one one that will certainly be of interest to me!

The slat sided coach with the four corner posts is really a 3040.

I have to say I love this early stuff, it appeals to me far more than the more modern highly detailed stuff.

Good luck with the sale.

James

Cheers James, there is no genuine 3007, sorry to disappoint. I can't remember where I got the Cat No from but obviously erroneous. It came without a box so double check not possible and I know nowt about LGB.

I will change the listing.

The one I have previously listed as 3010 is according to it embossed number a 3040. (also changed).

Thanks for the reply. Glad to have been of help. Looks like my 9 car vintage ZB train will stay at 9 cars then!

Have a look at the underside of the yellow 2060: If there is a push to make switch sticking down, then this is a 2060H (with horn) The toggles were worked by a ramp that was placed in the track. If I a right you may have one of those somewhere too!

I think the power for the horn came from some AA batteries in the earliest ones. Can't recall where they went right now, but I can check!

There's a whole heap of track and some wagons to come yet!

Oh well, worth a look! It is a 2060Y then!

James

If it had been the one with the push-button horn, I think it would have had blacked-out windows and no driver figure, because the primitive horn mechanism took up most of the cab space......

Jon.

Jon,

Yes you are right! I had forgotten that. The batteries were under the cab roof. It all comes flooding back now.

James

Wagons added below the passenger stock.

Here is the track. Prices are advisory, if you want the lot (Please!!) or a quantity then make a sensible offer, it will be considered (that goes for all the other stuff too). If you want better photos of a particular item then just ask, that also goes for all the stuff above.

Track Sold.

Lastly there are three controllers (Transformators).

5000N VGC. Unboxed. Signs of use. £15 Sale agreed

5003
VGC. Unboxed. Minor marks. £10 Tested, working Sale agreed

Hornby 910 Unboxed. Power Controller. VGC £15 Sale agreed

Controllers (600 x 450).jpg

The two, as yet untested, controllers will be tested before dispatch, once I've removed the 'antique' plugs!

3-pin 5amp (600 x 450).jpg

5 amp!!!

Remember guys if you want a bunch of stuff don't be frightened to make an offer. This stuff ALL has to go and the easier it is for me, the better! It's cluttering up my workspace.

Gents, I have to pass. I'm not a reliable trade partner at this moment as I have to spend much time with my wife/family and cannot keep up with appointments within a timely manner.
When the storm at home has calmed down, I'm in for business again!

Many thanks Henri. Best wishes for your family at this time.
