Hi All
Just a quick update on this long awaited railway programme, The biggest little railway in the world is to be shown on channel 4, Sunday 7th Jan at 8.00 pm. They were asking for people to join them in Scotland to try and complete a 70 mile engineering project using pre moulded track and motive power of some sort along the great glen way for those who didn't see my original post. It is going to be several 1 hour programmes I think, Information seems to be hard to find regarding overall content however it may be worth a gander

Thanks - just programmed the box.

Well it is in the channel 4 listings online.

Pictures indicate it is a live steamer. The blurb for episode one says:
Episode 1
The team must build a miniature train ferry at the Caledonian Canal, and cross a 12-metre span at Loch Lochy. It's not easy... And then the little train sets off on its epic journey across Scotland.

Thanks for the heads up Tony....

From watching some of the footage available, that poor little loco fell over many times, not derail, just fell on it's side.

Clearly shown in the damage to the paint in the picture below.

Now I tend to be a bit cynical about these sort of things - you know, setting up those willing participants for a bit of in-fighting and proverbial punch ups, presenters in full self-important pomp, set up to fail, etc'. However, I noticed this piece in The Daily Hell today -

Hmm, never much cared for Mr Sawbridge but if he eally is a model railway enthusiast........Methinks Roundhouse and the 16 mm NGM might be in for a minor surge of interest as is the way of these things. Silverladys going for a bomb on Ebay ? And what's all this talk of us hiding in attics and sheds, never heard of garden railways ? They will now, possibly.

No doubt shares in Roundhouse Engineering [if there were any] will have hit a new high after this well-deserved publicity.

Just thinking, if it had been a Shay rather than a rod-driven loco, we'd still be watching live episodes in 2040.........

Lots of comments using the word "sad"...
They don't say that about chasing around after a ball, though.
Possibly the most enduring children's toy ever invented (IMHO)!

Quite agree...... it's the same sort of thing as when someone dresses up like their favourite character from a TV show or movie, and they get laughed at by "normal" (ie: boring) people - but when some neckless moron with a beer-and-pie-belly dresses up like a footballer with a player's name on the back of his overpriced nylon shirt, that's all OK....... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Jon.

Ah, well, you see...

We are a 'minority'...

Football supporters have a 'critical mass'!
:devil::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::devil:

Time to take the Micky out of some majorities then, me thinks. (But try not to get thumped!)
