The old station building finally succumbed to the weather and the attentions of the dog

so a trip to Back2Bay6 resulted in some unpainted Cain Howley products - station building, house and some walls
so far the first has been primed, sprayed base coat, and top layers hand painted to get the effect I wanted

close up
I like the stepped roof detail
I have yet to spray it with Humbrol satin varnish, and the cottage/house is in the spray shop

I'm a big fan of Cain Howley's stuff. The casting is so crisp compared to certain other concrete buildings.

Nice job with the painting Paul .

The MR has some Cain Howley items - tunnel & cottage.
Originally delivered by himself in person.
He told me his wife is into wood carvings etc., and I think this may be the origin of his crisply detailed masters.
Very nice stuff.

I think that the way that he does his castings helps too. Certain other concrete buildings always look as if they have "sagged" during (or just after?) the moulding process and are often not square as a result, niether are their edges/corners crisp. CH seems to have addressed this problem very succesfully.

I love the spray booth, it's a close representation of mine.
I am a devotee of Cain Howley's buildings as well, it's the crisp detail that does it for me

When I built my viaduct I was really impressed by the fact that he had made the "legs" exactly the same size as a house brick so it was dead cheap and easy to put the "foundations" in. Now THAT is attention to detail I thought.

I mentioned this to Cain at last years Llanfair show ................................ turns out the size of the legs was a complete coincidence :rofl::rofl::rofl:.
