Brawa RhB Vacuum ejector smoke unit.

I've just obtained a second hand example of Brawa's RhB 2-8-0 and, to my surprise, the instructions show a Seuthe type smoke unit in the vacuum ejector exhaust. I took a look and it's absent on my example but there is a pair of neatly tied off wires.
I'm unsure about the wisdom of fitting one. The exhaust top is restrictive so I doubt much smoke would escape, LGB warn against covering one fitted as an option to their Corpet Louvet with a chimney cap and I don't wish to put too much load on a decoder function output.
Did Brawa have second thoughts and choose not to fit one or is mine an example where a previous owner has removed it?
Has anyone any experience of using a smoke unit in the ejector exhaust?

New one on me Neil. I have seen a couple of these wonderful beasties and I am pretty sure neither has ejector smoke.

Yes they did but it melted the cover on Neil's one as it was plastic. I turned up a replacement from brass which lasted much better until he sold it on.

After carefully re-reading the instructions I discovered they say you could retro fit one using the supplied wires but if you do don't replace the cover!

Interesting, I thought Neil C's came fitted, and he had it new, so maybe they amended the instructions later? I made the holes bigger on the brass version to let it out as they were tiny on the plastic version.
