I have a couple of steam locos with Blunami. I actually had a friend set them up for me. They run great.

Yes, that is what I am using for battery.

I've fitted one of my RC diesels with it. Works pretty well and is pretty simple to setup. I've got 10 1.3v NiMH cells powering it but will be upgrading it to 14 when I get the chance as the runtime is a little bit down now. Having to control it via your phone is handy but it does make shooting videos quite hard compared to a standard controller.
