Bachmann ore cars

I have been looking at Bachmann ore cars, the raised square type. Before I make up my mind to buy one or two, I wonder if LGB hook and loop couplers can be fitted to them. Has anyone had the experience doing it?

Frame interference I would assume?

Another option that makes these cars look great is to remove the tabs, file the ends smooth and install Ozark link and pin couplers. Did it to my set of them, moutains better than the Bachmann ones and they couple close like the real ones.
