How do I fit Accucraft chopper couplings to a Bachmann G scale Lynn which has knuckle couplings? Any help appreciated.

I bought a used Mk1 Lyn a couple of years ago and that had the choppers just glued to the buffer beams. Luckily that meant they were already centred so I just had to drill suitable holes in the beam and pop some screws in to give a little more "assurance".

My line is minimum radius R2 and I've had no issues with derailments etc., Not sure about R1's though.

I did much the same. Removed the originals and glued the choppers on, using the screws to add more purchase. This is a latest version of the Baldwin, I did the same thing with an original Lyn too.

I’ve used swift16 brass choppers. I shortened the shank on the coupler and drilled a suitably sized hole so that the original mounting screw could be used. They’re a little long, it they do the job and avoided the need to do any major surgery to the buffer beam.

Mate of mine brought his around to run on the Taita Gorge Railway, which is famous for its R1 curves, no problems whatsoever.

Yebbut was it fitted with Accurcaft choppers fixed to the buffer beam?

I think the OP's concern is that with fixed couplers on the beams, the overhang may prove too much on R1's.

Actually, thinking about it, there was an issue with the chopper couplings and R1 Curves, I ended up taking the chopper bit out and using a chain

Mine runs fine on R1s with the swift sixteen choppers as they’re attached to the original draw bar (which has a frankly ludicrous amount of ‘swing’)
