They are not as well detailed as the USAT wagons but they are tough, have metals wheels and run well. I like em and run em as if they were standard gauge wagons. They are a little lower than the loco but some coal wagons were and I think they look ok. They would look too small running with some of the Bachmann Spectrum steam locos.
The first one of this rake used to be a Peabody until I got my red oxide out

I haven't got around to weathering mine but they do go out in all weather ;) And it doesn't seem to cause any harm.

I used a car spray. I didn't remove the decals but it might have been a good idea to do so as the latters do show just a little.

I resprayed mine into EWS colours. The low height means they look OK with the smaller Aristocraft Class 66, but I did paint the lower chutes matt black and remove the brake wheel to give a lower profile. They were Peabody ones originally and just sprayed straight over the original colour, although I did use a matt red oxide undercoat ( the first one used white undercoat and you could still read the name! )
Great Hoppers, you will not be disappointed at the price.

You would have to be (G Scale) mad to pay £45! £36 to £38 is my guide price.

Nico,

You don't mention which Aristo stock you wanted. If it is the 2 bay coal hoppers they are due July/Aug according to the Bachmann web site. I know the new production arrived in the United States almost two weeks ago so the UK quota can't be far behind. I have five of them already and will be looking for more. They are a good model and as they are shorter than the 100T Aristo and Bachmann cars a train with more cars is possible. (i.e. six Aristo 2 bay = five Bachmann approx. in length.

I have the five of the Bachmann cars as well but naturally prefer the Aristo ones but accept they cost more. ;)

Jeremy is able to get the new road name gondolas as they have arrived by the way.

Hi nico
i find that the bachmann kits are cheaper. you just need to spray and add letter's and your good to go....
