Some seriously cheep starting bids in those lots, if no further bids someone will get some bargains. But I suspect some dealers will be on those lots.

Thats kind of why im posting these, The dealers will have a limit to what they will pay and try make a wacking profit. hoping someone has a punt and gets an item they really want. If you are happy to pay a fair price (including fees) then you should still beat the proffessional ebayer shisters who all they do is sit at home twiddling thier fingers watching Antiques Road trip all day. I kinda admire the real retailers who have a physical shop or online website as the costs and responsibilty are higher.

The buyer's premium is one of the highest I've seen so beware.

From what I have seen this is fairly average but on the higher side, they dont have any other charges other than this and vat, sometimes there are registration charges too, I would always try and login in and register direct with the company who is holding the auction, in this case it actually all being done via Easyliveaction who offer the platform for bidding (Im guessing they are cheaper out of the two main online platforms (easylive and saleroom)). im going to post a recent invoice i got for a bid as a guide.

This was "timed" auction, from my experience they are confusing a crazy at the end. This was no different. But prices reached for NEW items realistic (inc fees), LGB digital starter set £260, RHB Electric loco £260, LGb steam Rack loco £370, 4x Green RHB Saloon Coaches £360. Lots of items didnt meet their reserve, but some of the estimates were well off too ! £450 to 600 for 5 LGB wagons ! (they must have mini gold bars on as cargo)... Chaos.

Got two new LGB streetcars for £175 and £210 respectively. Considering the new retail cost of them now, I’m very pleased…

Cheers

Very pleased to bag the little green Feldbahn loco for£60 and the three LGB 30500
green and 30503 green/brown carriages for £100. The other similar set had a reserve above £100 and failed to sell! Odd.
Some lucky beggar got the new Ballenburg for £290, ten pounds more than my bid. Grr. Serves me right for being so parsimonious.

I found it a difficult site to negotiate and was expecting to be able to watch the bidding,
. In the event I forgot about it!,
At least one if the items was wrongly described. I notified them about the error yesterday and they replied but didn’t change it.
I am now trying to organise payment and shipping.

This I great news Keith, Just the reason i posted these, That Fieldbahn looks mint and a great little engine for a steal that should be just over 100 with fee and delivery, I too had a cheeky go on the Ballenburg as im "cog" fan but had already spent out on an MOB lok this week at another auction so i was low.

From what i learned there is nothing to follow really,if a bid comes in with 5 mins to go it adds another 5 to the sale. I too emailed them about the silly reserves and estimates on some items. That Amercan limited ed train failed for sell at £620 !

V many thanks for the heads up. I already have 2 Ballenbergs (!) but could not resist a punt. If it had been the alternative number then I might have been more adventurous

As a matter of interest, have you had full payment details from the Auctioneers?
I have had the invoice for the purchases but am still awaiting shipping estimate.
I don’t know if they expect payment before the shipping estimate. V odd if they do.

Same here Keith. So I phoned them up and was told I could either pay their invoice and wait for the shipping one, or wait and pay both at the same time. The guy actually recommended waiting and paying both together…it’s a bit frustrating though as I want the items in my hands…

Cheers

I have now have 2 invoices and emails from them but quoting 3 different shipping charges of £20 £28 and £38!
Someone there can’t add up.
I might collect them as it will cost me less than the cheapest if I go by train.

The green RHB saloon coaches have an image with 4 of them although listed as only 2. Extremely good price at £280 plus buyers premium. A little more than one for that price.
The pair of Swiss 3 axle cars are a very good price too at £30. Cooke Moguls all a good price. So too is the brass LGB/Aster White Pass although as I recall, that model has some issues.
Plenty of good deals there although there is also the buyers premium and postage to consider.

sorry, was away, These Auction houses are never quick at doing anything unless its demaning there money when it over due and quick to calculate their fees ! i didnt buy anything at this auction but did at SAS last week, First time i used them It took 4.5 weeks to get the items from paying the invoice, This time 1 week ! arrived and sat on my doorstep for 2 days while I was away !

I would wait and not pay anything (tell them that) Untill the correct invoice is sent and your happy.

Yes now 3 invoices. (I got another one today when they claim to be closed!) but three totals, i have decided to choose the lowest one and see what happens. It isn’t my fault they can’t add up. It is only a small difference from the correct total.

This lot are a laugh a minute - not.
I have two more invoices the second received hours after I paid, the first one thanking me for payment and “enclosing (my) invoice”. It wasn’t enclosed. Give me strength.
