I understand quite a number of forum members use the TE, and there is a lot of good information about and Greg's website being one such beast. However I am surprised that there is nothing in this forum's resource area, all those beginner (and not so beginner) users may find interesting:
A file with links to all the various useful information, manuals, and external websites etc, also those snippets from this website that would assist users, not sure as a new user how this would work, but I am sure it could do.

Stickys are very useful but very soon block up the new posts ( as they are always on top). best to use the Resources section - but it is up to you guys to build it. It is an underused facility.
