Anybody got a spare 5000 or so dollars

Looks very nice if you're into that sort of thing (I like the Mallet). The big question; is the sum of parts, equal to, or greater than the whole. Certainly if only 15 made, it does make it pretty rare.

You could alway's melt the case down and use it for track? or for scrap :rolf:

wow
by my estimate the locos are worth about 2600 -and that would be about the price in like new condition and with boxes from my recent US ebay meanderings

as mentioned not extremely rare individual items-except for the stainz in my experience

the box itself may have a number -possibly spares from some other (Continental classic??) set
and it may be indeed as claimed-but it seems hugely overpriced

it is a convenient way to, at 80lbs, to have your man servant carry a nice selction of locos to your friend's country estate in the boot of the Lagonda  for a run

be interesting to see how many times this is re-listed

id guess 3500 is tops

if one of you buy please contact me as  i have a nice pennsy observation for your new F-7 at a comparative bargain price!

Hmm, this is 'ere in my backyard, must find out more.....

....yes, a legit set, presented to dealers as listed. The seller used to have a store in Tennessee.

Imagine attempting a stealth purchase of a box that size....

'Oh, that little thing Dear, I've had it for ages'

My choice of car for the man servant to drive me about in (with this train set) would be one of these:-
