I don't have a wife. Or any other sort of partner for that matter. Ok, there has been a series of cats, they can be quite disapproving if you put anything before their food. This probably explains a lot of things in my out of control hobby life. Actually its quite calm and ordered really. Absolutely agree on both counts. My wife collects postcards and has a dedicated room for her ever expanding collection. She is also interested in railways and model railways having had a Clockwork Horny Train Set as a child. By the way she still has it!! I too have run out of space and have very little room in the "Man Cave" for anymore rolling stock. I have been told to use the following principle of one in and one out!!She does mostly 1/12, with occasional dabbles in 1/6, but I've also sourced a few bits of 1/24 stuff from the "Miniatures" hobby for railway use... but it means that although we each have our own hobbies and preferred scales, we both "get" what the other is doing - which means a much better understanding of the tendency to collect "stuff" that might be useful...!

My Mum was a big time sewer, amazing how many rolls of cotton, needles and material there were. Much like my collection of small wood, metal, wire, switches and plasticard. All will come in useful one day……….

I think you will find that prices for red boxes are not what they used to be.Yes, our Red Boxes do maintain their value compared with a lot of other hobbies... a point that I have made quite frequently!
