Pick any of the three colours and the price will be the same when you buy from GRO - other dealers may differ - but that is up to them! ;D
GRO is not a Piko dealer - so don't ask for one of those!

WOW! That's really impressive.

I wish that I had even one. Mine's close though, it's a Piko. :)

Ah-ha! Someone who actually has the Piko..
Would you by any chance use it with Massoth decoders? Or is Massoth a mainly European thing?

The Piko looks to be a logical progression for those needing a smaller current capacity, as a replacement for the MTS range..

Have you found any 'features' (problems / strange behaviour) at all?

Thanks in advance,
Phil Partridge.

Actually, Phil, it's still in the box. I haven't completed construction of my railroad yet so haven't been able to use it. I did, however, use the entire Piko DCC wireless system I have on a small track setup just to test it out. I used a LGB White Pass locomotive (25554) that had factory DCC (Massoth?) installed. Everything seemed to work fine. I could play various sounds, move the loco, adjust the speed easily, etc. I did not notice any problems. The Piko is a nice, clean, easy to setup system. I bought it at a 'special' price at one of out train shows. It was about half of the price of the Massoth system at the time. The Massoth Navigator, wireless receiver, etc. can be used with the Piko system.

I remember that the Piko system limitations compared to the Massoth system have been discussed before on this forum. You cannot update the software/firmware yourself and it doesn't support a separate programming track were two of my concerns (you program on the main line). However, it is a relatively inexpensive way to get into DCC. And, I should mention that I have a new, in the box, LGB MTS III central station built in Germany before the first bankruptcy. I decided that it was not as flexible as the Piko or Massoth systems so I went with the Piko. I'll be putting it up for sale this weekend at our annual club meeting (BAGRS) here in California.

Sorry, I can't be of more help.

Scottish Garden Railways has a 2nd hand Piko DDC system for sale at £450.

Scroll down past the locos to view....

Thank you George and Gizzy..

I will have to look into the updating limitation..
I use a separate programming track, and a DPDT switch to make sure NOTHING ever gets programmed 'on the main'.. - Too many items sitting there to risk it!

Phil, using a DPDT switch to go with either the main line or the programming line should eliminate the no separate programming line output of the Piko.
