All Aboard [in Oz] is no longer closing down

I scooped up their remaining few R5 points at 20% off.
They currently have a half price sale on LGB spare parts. Mainly wheels, motors etc.
Not many large scale dealers in the land of OZ. Another one bites the dust unfortunately. :worried:

It's a shame to lose a local supplier. I often wonder how big the market for garden rail in is Oz and from discussion with Vic over the years it is either not very or we buy a lot of stuff from overseas. I wonder why they weren't able to sell the business, it a lovely part of the country they are in.

Over here in Perth we have Maylands Models that has a good line in new and 2nd hand garden gauge stuff LGB, Bachmann etc.) - lots of track, spares and odds and sods. Lovely.

I found their WordPress website but they have no information regarding large scale or anything else for that matter. Why do I hear about them first on a UK forum? They need to market themselves better.

Small operation really servicing the local community I suppose. Covers all scales. BTW they have moved a few metres from the shop shown on their website to get more space.

FWIW,
As the track bargains seem to be going well I found these under Specials on another local web site [https://pamakhobbies.com/carrera/] if anyone local [NSW or willing to pay the postage] is interested.

That is good news to hear, been an occasional visitor and purchaser of LGB from them and the father-in-law founder ever since their move to the Southern Highlands. The local “Rails in the Garden” hobby people will be happy too: an excellent complimentary source of large scale to the outstanding PAMAK business of 45 years nearby (an Australian concept of distance when driving around, I think the distance may be 20+ kilometres).

The latest information re All Aboard for all those who aren't on the mailing list ...

Dear All Aboard Customers,

As you all are now aware we have accepted an offer on All Aboard and are looking forward to retirement in a few weeks. You will be able to drop in and catch the new owner Brendan Ingram from next week.

To answer a few questions until more information comes through next week:

1. The store will be remaining in it's current location in Bowral.

2. Existing backorders for new items remain unchanged and will be fulfilled as normal from All Aboard.

3. Loyalty points will end this coming Thursday 14th so be sure to use them before they are deleted.

4. Gift vouchers remain valid with All Aboard.

5. The All Aboard team will continue on with the new owner (except for us lucky retirees...).

6. We will be in store for the next couple of weeks so of course drop in and catch up.

A more detailed newsletter will be sent out next week.

Regards,

Victor and Christine Bernasconi.

It's great to see a store survive and carry on

Just got this email from All Aboard introducing the new owner Brendan

"Well it’s time for Christine & Victor to hand over the running of All Aboard Modellbahn to new owner Brendan Ingram.

Brendan comes from the technology industry and under Vic’s guidance is learning fast.

All Aboard is in the restocking phase, Brendan has started placing orders for all of our well known superior brands.

If you have any item requests, please contact the All Aboard team (Brendan, Earl, Cooper & Heath) on 02 4871 2966.

Personally, Christine & Victor are thrilled that All Aboard continues in the same location.

Thank you again for all your well wishes,
Christine and Victor.

Hello everyone,

My name is Brendan, and I am the very happy new owner of All Aboard! I'm pleased to say that All Aboard will remain open, and the amazing legacy that Vic, Christine, Bill and Marj have been building since 1975 will continue to grow.

As you all know, Vic and Christine are amazing people, and they are doing a wonderful job of handing over the business. I'm learning fast, and enjoying every moment.

We have a lot of new stock arriving early next year to fill the shelves, and a long list of ideas for the future!

I look forward to being of service to our amazing model railway community, and sharing the joy of our incredible hobby.

Feel free to come and say hello when you are in the shop.

Warmest regards and thanks,
Brendan"

A train store in Aust that is not closing must be a good thing.

2024 New Items
Hello!
We've been enjoying the new releases coming out of Europe the last couple of weeks. Have you got a favourite new item?
Marklin, Trix, LGB, Roco, Fleischmann have all had their new releases out for a week or two now, and Noch is launching their 2024 products within the next 1 or 2 days.
If you see a new 2024 item that you like, it's best that you order it pretty soon. Some of our long term customers will be experienced with how quickly the new items sell out, but it has amazed me! If you'd like to place a pre-order, please call the shop on 02 4871 2966, or send us an email.
We are still open!
We're still getting happy messages from our customers saying how relieved they are that All Aboard is staying open. Word of mouth is a powerful thing - it spread far and wide that we were closing down, so please help us share that we are staying open!
Next stop, website
It's rolling in to the station...
It might look from the outside like things are quiet, but it has been a monumental effort by the team, and the work won't be done once the new website goes live - it's just the beginning!
We'd love to hear from you. What new products are you currently enjoying? What products would you like us to stock that perhaps we haven't in the past? What have you been modelling or driving lately?
Thank you again everybody for your continued support. We're excited to show you what we've been working on to make 2024 a wonderful year for all of us.
