The Kittatinny RR sufferen a lot of wind damage but nothing compared to the shore region. Winds were gusting 60-70 mph with a peak gust of 74 mph. It lasted for hours. Everyone is ok and operations should be back soon.

Re:Aftermath of superstrom Sandy on the KMRR

Sorry to see the damage, Shawn, but very glad to hear it wasn't worse! Hope the 1:1 scale buildings came through OK as well?

Jon.

Re:Aftermath of superstrom Sandy on the KMRR

Some work to do there Shawn , I hope there is not so much to do in the 1 to 1 world.

Re:Aftermath of superstrom Sandy on the KMRR

All ya gotta do is get it sorted before the snow comes now Shawn.

Re:Aftermath of superstrom Sandy on the KMRR

Happy to hear that you are OK Shawn.

Re:Aftermath of superstrom Sandy on the KMRR

Shawn I am surprised you didn't pull up those buildings prior.Luckily looks like nothing a bit of Goop adhesive wouldn't solve.

Re:Aftermath of superstrom Sandy on the KMRR

Thanks guys
Garry looks we have a snowstorm on the way for mid week.
Vic I was going to bring the buildings in but what fun would that be lol. Now I know what buildings need to be secured and built better. It gives me somethng to do this winter

Re:Aftermath of superstrom Sandy on the KMRR

Good to hear your okay, the damage is frustrating but not a complete wipe out thankfully.

Absolutely - buildings are easier fixed. Some harrowing footage on the news of the cities, which seem to have suffered more than the country. Low lying of course, flooding issues rather than wind damage it would seem.

Re:Aftermath of superstrom Sandy on the KMRR

Glad your all OK Shawn. A bit of work on the line could be considered therapy.

Re:Aftermath of superstrom Sandy on the KMRR

Good to hear you are all fine and dandy Shawn....

Re:Aftermath of superstrom Sandy on the KMRR

The amount of damage certainly depended on you location in the storms path, as I managed to get caught up in it and only managed to get home yesterday!

I was in Havre de Grace, Maryland when it hit on Monday evening, my flight from Philadelphia having been cancelled that evening, and I was only able to fly out (via Charlotte, NC) on Friday. If I had waited for a seat on the direct PHL-LHR service, I wouldn't have been able to leave until tomorrow evening.........

The centre of the storm appeared to be on track to pass right over where I was staying, up to the point where the cable TV & phones at the Motel went dead at 20.50 on Monday night, but all that appeared to have happened by Tuesday morning was lots of rain (around 9", I believe), strong winds, some minor flooding and the odd tree or branches down. It was certainly not as bad there as when we had the hurricane in the south east of the UK back in October 1987.
Driving up into southern PA to Kennett Square, Lancaster and Harrisburg during Wed & Thur showed very little obvious damage whilst driving through, and I even found some rail activity to photograph.
It wasn't until the TV came back on, after about an 18 hour gap, that I realised how much damage had been caused along the shores of NJ and in the New York area. One hopes that those affected will soon be able to return to some form of normallity.

Re:Aftermath of superstrom Sandy on the KMRR

From the new's pic's i've seen over here i'm amazed Shawn that your buildings have only blown over and not ended up several miles away good to hear that your all ok .

Re:Aftermath of superstrom Sandy on the KMRR

Good to see that it was only 'mild' damage Shawn. Hopefully the full sized buildings are not so affected.

The appearance of the damage is quite realistic on a 1:20 scale!
