Advice please on fixing figures in coaches.

I know some on here have successfully used self-adhesive velcro tape. Not tried it myself -but then some of my scratchbuilt coaches don't even have seats .
I have done this.
typically it adheres well to the seat, not to the figure. Somewhat unsightly. I abandoned it.

I have in extreme cases been known to drill a hole through the seat into the poor little ones posterior and fix with a screw. No rude remarks out there please!

Extreme? Par for the course on my railways.
When I upskilled to G, I made a conscious decision not to use figures mounted on a base, or to use adhesives to fix them. Where possible, I screw figures to rolling stock.

All my standing figures have a nail pushed into a foot and pushed into the ground, or a pre-made hole. I've also done something similar in some of my coaches

So as previously mentioned a lot of mine are screwed/bolted in position, however reading this thread I have just tried "hot glue" to hold a figure in place, time will tell :)

In No particular order:
Fixed, either a small amount of silicone, or hot-melt.
If you can't see their feet (footplate crew, with bases) I have been known to use 'automotive tape'. - Double-sided-adhesive, black-foam tape.
On baseboards, etc. (especially where you might want to swap characters around) then a pin in the figure, and a hole in the baseboard.

Mostly glue dots for me -clear sticky circles, often, I cut these in half with a scalpel first

Mostly the figures are inside roofed coaches, but there's also some in the sightseeing wagons.
