As it says above really wanting an Accucraft "Mona" in the Ailsa Green livery (Steam or Electric) and any M or H wagons, or Vans (Accucraft or other)

A belated welcome to the Forum! Do you have a name we can call you by?
You'll know by now that there isn't any new IMR motive power or rolling stock available in RTR format, but stuff does come up fairly regularly, both on the well-known auction site and with traders. There are a couple of small-scale kit manufacturers who you can contact through the IOM15MIL group website; they produce H and G wagon kits, plus an MNR brake van.
The M wagons were a short production run made by Accucraft for Trackshack in the Isle of Man. Check for wobbly wheels if buying, as the plastic bushes in the wheels weren't always concentric!
The good news is that the locos sold in good numbers, and several seem to have got little use or been shelf queens; I picked up a lightly-used live steam Caledonia from Anything Narrow Gauge (other dealers are available) a few years back, and an Ailsa Green  Mona (sorry!) from the same dealer that hadn't even been run in, last autumn.
There are a handful of us on here who model the MNR/IMR, with Fezwig Fezwig and I posting regularly. Do send us some pics of your progress -it's a great line to model!

Mona in Ailsa Green.

And if at all possible Brunel Station and Shed kits for Port Erin. but that's probably after I've got things up and running.
So I don't think I'm doing too bad since the beginning of July to get the above in 3 months. (Various sources)

Been modelling the IOM and other 3 foot lines for quite a while in OOn3 now stepping up to 15mm
In that time I have figured out that If you see something you want BUY IT as you may well not ever see one again.

Hi Mark, that's quite a collection! The Holly Green  Loch must be quite rare, as is  Viking; so I'm sure you'll run a  Mona to ground before long. And if you're in touch with Ed More and Jason Kovac then you've got most of the bases covered.

I would echo that sentiment..
I missed out on an electric 'Gowrie' because I needed to get a clutch replaced.. - Still regret that one!

Welcome to the Forum, by the way, Mark..

Do not think the Holly Green sold too well so maybe a bit thin on ground. As to traders, I will also have to start talking more nicely to DJB when I'm down there emptying his dustbins.

DJB kits are rare, and their locos even more so. I bought a small F kit when they were in production, but we are now reliant on cupboards being emptied....
Those second-generation plywood kits were beautiful: I wish I had bought more of them -and the compensated bogies that they ran on- but hindsight is a wonderful thing. Sadly, I think we have passed peak IOM in this scale. Accucraft/Trackshack led a brief period (with DJB playing their part) when modelling the IMR was comparatively easy. We're back to cottage industry kits and scratch-building, I fear.

Welcome to the forum Mark, youve got quite a collection there already. Theres plenty of advice to be had on here, and loads of dodgy humour to look out for. Have you looked into thd 16mm Association? They regularly have sale items available. Obviously the Garden Railway show is a must see, theres usually the Manx Railway group there.

Hi Paul, Yes I've looked at the 16mm group and the trading section the 15mm web pages, Went to the Yorkshire show at Barrow Hill (It was only 15 minutes away). Plan on getting to the Next Garden Show.

Welcome to the forum Mark, if you wish you can put your first name in your signature line which will show up just beneath your post, if you look at mine you can see how much I have managed to squeeze in there.

Hi Mark,
I was going to point you to the IOM 15mm group, but I realised when I read Emptying DJB bins that we've already made contact on the Facebook page!
Welcome aboard, now there's 3 of us modelling (And classic cars) the IMR, we might get the corner of a side cupboard some where :D
Did you get the pairs roof off ok?

Yes Thanks, Easy once you know how.

Rather lucky where I am in that I cover DJB, Bole Lasercraft and A1 Models (Phil at Hobby Holidays has now moved out of the area though).
You'll have to get Mr DJB to produce some of those nice IMR chopper couplings

Last time I spoke to him he said he was willing to redo some of his stuff, But needed a reasonable amount of pre orders to be worthwhile.
Those coach bogies were even mentioned (about being done in brass (Lost wax) instead of whitemetal frames), There is a chance if we can get ourselves organised. (I even got some of the old ones afterwards as he cleared out stock)

Last time I spoke to him, he wanted around 40 coach orders. Whether that was all of the same type, or across the range I don't know.

No good to me but there are still a couple of "Caledonias" at Footplate

Hello. I am new on here and found this thread when idle curiosity had me searching the web for DJB Isle of Man coaches, as I do perhaps once a year. My own IOM collection isn't as extensive as Mark's, and I don't (yet) have anywhere to run it, but those DJB coaches do look good, and I'd grab the chance for a couple, which is probably about all I could afford/justify. £215 each they were something like 10 years ago, plus £55 for a pair of bogies. Bowaters kits are a fraction of the price, but I've held off buying any just on the offchance that DJB might offer theirs again, or I might pick one up secondhand.

Hello J Jeremy Cumberland

I've got my collection was pretty quick so far (3 Month's) but has slowed now as am wanting specific items. (Plus I think I have been particularly lucky).

We all have to start somewhere be it with a single wagon or Loco and build from there as budget and availability allow.

What have you got so far and where are you situated?
