At last!! Accucraft (US) have released details of their long awaited switches for Code 332 ‘Euro’ style track. At 4’ radius they will be ideal for the majority of garden railways and made to the same standards of accuracy and durability as the code 332 track we have been supplying for so long. Coming with an American switch stand (a UK point lever will be made available) the points have ‘live frogs’, the current being switched as the point is changed. Coming with an attractive price tag of just £75.00 UK RRP we feel sure that these points are going prove very popular.

Looks good. I like the idea of a switched live frog.

The photo clearly shows a dead frog. A live frog is made from metal so the whole frog carries current - I.e. It is live . This makes for more complex wiring as three of the four rails from the point are live with the same polarity.

Are you saying the power only goes in the direction the point is switched? Or is it the same as lgb points where the power goes to both tracks leaving the point?

If you are right, and it does look like are, then that is a brilliant point. It ticks all the boxes.
Once the brass has toned down the whole thing will look really good.

As stated in the accompanying text, the frog is 'live' with the current changed with the switch blades (the frog is chemically blackened metal isolated from the rails themselves).

Point motors are not yet available but there will be a British style point lever available as well as the attractive American switch stand.
