The Management of the SaTR, being of community spirit, have rehabilitated their oldest loco for use on Heritage trains. The 4-4-0 still has to have its painting completed but was released to traffic for testing on both passenger and goods traffic. Performance was considered satifactory and it will soon be operating excursions.

Construction of the loco was documented here:

A fine addition to the SaTR fleet, Greg. Like the way the sound fades when the regulator is closed.

Rather a nice High Stepping 4-4-0 you have created there Gregh. Presumably it will very soon get a Seconond Man and some lettering. Would also be very tempted to do some extremely subtly weathering below the skirt. Subtle mind. Lovely job.

Noticed the Wire on the Trestle to stop fall offs, have done the same on my Ally One.

How long until you need a tree deviation line.

Bit of a re root ;D ;D

Very nice Greg. and a home produced sound card - excellent. ;D ;D

...and so much more interesting than another straight out of the box LGB product, good though they are.

If you're referring to around 1min17 in the video, the track is being lifted by roots but plenty of lateral clearance at present. Luckily there is a few inches between the bottom of track and the roots, so someday, I'll lower the track.
But, I work on the principle that if it's working, don't touch it.

Nice Greg. Was the inspiration the 16 class?

Another video of the loco, now complete with lines and lettering.

And this video has this loco (and the grand kids from USA) and a live steam visitor - watch the smoke effects at 2 minutes in.

The 4-4-0 is looking good in her new livery, Greg. Some great shots in the videos. Really like some of those tracking shots.
