A big thank you for having the only understandable DCC forum available for an almost senile old man.
The circumstances: After the demise of the Crest Revolution I've re-entered DCC. In order to utilise my MTS 1 starter set that was in the back of the closet with vintage fishing reels, (which had only the capability to set the short address) I purchased an SPROG JMRI to read and write bits.
What I did was install a brand new LGB 55021 decoder that was plug and play in a 20605 Schoema.
The one bit question: The problem is that on an analogue track the engine will run forward until slowed to a crawl, stopped, or reversed. It then sits and stubbornly refuses to move until it's put on a DCC track. It will work fine in DCC mode. When checked with the SPROG thing the value 4 in CV29 has turned off. If reset to on with the SPROG or a newly acquired (used) 55015 the original symptoms will repeat.
My other 2 DCC locos work fine in all currently set modes.
What's broken beside my wallet?
