Good idea Steven - like the idea of solder as cable. Early electric cables were lead sheathed so what you've done is very prototypical

What are the drums made from - they seem familiar but I can't just put my finger on what they might be?

hi tammayo..glad u are ok.... ahhh. i used green wire from my old ex xmas light!!!! just glue it and wrapped around it and then cut it,,, paint it with gunmetal paint from model colour VALLego....

the drum is from HARD cardboard tubes!!! 2 end round one lol......

if u want one... pm me...coz my mate work in warehouse...... recycle...

p.s.will weathering the open wagon later today... ASLO ebay mike got me small tanker and caboose from new bright....so will do something..

Hi Steven - it fooled me, it just looked like plumber's solder wire for fittings! I remember lead covered twin and earth (instead of PVC) as well as heavier tramway feeder cables - nearly as thick as your arm - which is what your cable looked like.

yes tht rite but i did try use soldering leads on it but it was heavy on each drum so i go for wire lol

Cracking idea steve - really look the part - I thought you had used solder as well
hadn't though about the weight :thinking:
but cable painted with gun metal looks spot on

Old bandbright kit is realy good to 'distress' and to bash.

I 'mucked about' with one for my oil tank refil station
