With the impending closure of the line, despite the extreme cold I braved the weather to take these psobably final shots of Snow Clearing for this line prior to lifting. Note that in the best of Railway Modernisation (BR Style) the Railway has been Dieselised just prior to closure. The train consist is an Aristocraft Snow Plow, my Battery Operated Austrian Diesel and a Venerable LGB Van for the Crew Messing facilities.
Train about to set off on Clearing Duties.
Disaster at the first curve, the thick snow derails the Plow. That Aristo front bogie is a pig to get back on the rails.
Cab side view in Alexisbad.
Guards view when he looks over the Van Roof.
Drivers eye view from a nice warm cab.
After a run at a Drift.
Posing on the Viaduct.
More posing on the Viaduct.
Setting back for a charge at a drift.
After the charge - where has the Plow gone?
