3D van

Wow!! I'm debating moving into the 21st C and buying a resin printer to do lots of bits I find that I need, but cost £5 - 10 for what I consider to be more like 50p.

However, every time I make up my mind to buy the darn thing, a new one comes out that is faster, less smelly, quieter, more precise, more economical in electricity and while actually looking smaller, is at least 10% bigger than its predecessor.

What is a poor old fart to do?

I bought mine some years ago on sale at Princess Auto at the insistence of the wimminfolk :D and because I trusted the Dremel brand.
I have since discovered other brands that can handle larger print jobs and are more sophisticated and considerably less expensive , but I dare not lay out more of my pension o_O.
No doubt you can get good advice from this community.

Like you tac I am on the cusp of will I wont I? For my money what I know so far is that while resin appears to be a better end product (I have dabbled with resin moulding) there are I believe processes to be followed after the part created. Plus I am still unsure about the prospects of how the resin is stored and the device kept clean?

Some of my employers can testify that I was a printer that broke machines.
Shall you be leaving the 3D herringbone print pattern on the body or polishing it off in some way? I know it isn't prototypical but does looks pretty jazzy.

Roof covering started:

A piece of .005 styrene sheet I found. Cut slightly oversize and will be epoxied down about three roof planks at a time, a tip I picked up from the Peckforton site. Thank’ee, sir.
First three planks done and left to cure for 24 hours before I do the second section. Mini clamps in action ;)
