Do you intend to be there on Sunday, too? If so, we might have a meet-up? I'm just driving over for the day - to take a loco and collect two.... I won't be there until gone midday as I have to take Mrs tac over to Addenbrookes, where our daughter, Eleanor, will be starting her fifth week there. :( Let me know and and I'll post you my phone number in messages.

Sorry, Sunday we are heading onwards to Aberystwyth for a couple of days to visit the VoR railway, before we head up to Porthmadoc....

Fosworks will not be there.

Some bloke (also known as PhilP) will be on, or near, the RC Trains stand both days. ;)

I have been helping my neighbour build his garden railway so will be there with him on Saturday morning in an “advisory” capacity, doubtless, the piggy bank will be on standby.

WUXTREE!!!!!!!! I won't be going after all. :(

The Garratt, currently under heavy overhaul, will not be ready, so my intention of collecting it to ensure a safe journey 'twixt North Wales and our UK address here in East Anglia has been forestalled. Accucraft will be mailing me the Peckett kit, too. Add to that the daily visits to daughter in Addenbrookes, and my plan was doomed from the get-go..........................

PhlP - your coffee money is safe.
 
Just re-read the thread from 2018, when Mizzy and I last visited.

Was it really 5 years ago?

We did have the Flu pandemic during 2020/21 though.

I've just repacked my case as the weather forecast is much improved for this weekend. I'll be meeting up with the lovely lady shortly, getting fuel for her car, then she'll have to pack her case and probably check my bag just in case I've forgotten something. I've got my medication ready plus toothbrush and spare undies though?

After all, what else does a bloke need....
 
I might have talked SWMBO into the trip as we re in Shrewsbury next week, unfortunately we re booked in to help move No1 Child's boat through about 20 locks on the way
 
Bit of a drama on the M6, so diverted up the A5.

But we are here....
 
After a brew in our room, we took a stroll up to Raven Sqaure and bumped into Philp and Jane.We had a look at the exhibition in the loco shed.

Watched the last train shunt its stock before departing for Llanfair. We then followed the old route of the old line down to Welshpool station, and soon racked up my 10000 steps for the day.

Tomorrow we get the train to Llanfair and the show there....

The show was quiet this morning with less stalls selling than last year.
Nevertheless, caught up with some of the GSC and other G scale folk.
My neighbour treated himself to the latest Harz 2-6-2 with sound. His railway is coming along nicely.

Cackle.... that's the 'fitted with handbrake' sign, as I'm sure you know..... I pull the legs of Hungarian guests/visitors on our railway by telling them that the carriage was designed by Mr Allíto Kézifék.

My chum was there as I couldn't go myself, and sent me photos from the show and steam gala, but he didn't explain what Allan had done wrong to get himself banned:
