End of g scale Thomas Range Europe and uk

According to the GRS web page Bachmann are no longer going to marker G Scale TtTE range in the above due to licensing issues! They suggest you may be able to purchase from the USA direct!
Sad but perhaps not unexpected given license owners probably want to maximise income and I guess bachmannd sale levels of this range which other than a few repaints must be diminishing as they must have sold the range pretty well at least once to what might be seen as a shrinking customer base.

They should just keep making the locos but without TOMO TANK BRANDING and in black or green or maroon. probably sell more ! then some 3d printer retailer on ebay can just sell a face to pop on ! but thats my business head.. toy train companies dont seam to have that, what a waste of tooling

They attempted that in OO gauge, see Greg and Stuart of the Bachmann Junior range. The shape of Thomas, Percy etc. from the TV series is protected, and Bachmann were made to stop selling them and destroy any remaining stocks. At the time, it conflicted with the exclusive UK license held by Hornby.

That was a waste, but as far as the message shows, nothing stopping the tooling being used to continue to make Thomas?
