Excellent pictures Stewie. Your very hard work is paying off nicely.Had a bit of fun working on the railway this week, nothing major just minor details added.

A couple of low retaining walls to finish off the trackwork here. Also changed the mob that was here for another ground cover that likes the full sun better.

Crossings in, they still need some weathering to blend them in and blend in the patches in the road. The short curb will have a crossing light one day.

Reworked the approach to the crossing by putting a nicer rock in and widening it, plus I fitted new foam retaining walls.
Still a little bit to do here before I move onto the station, which will be next.

Running a train to make sure the new crossings are ok.
Also checking clearances in the passing loops.
I had made them long enough for a 4 coach train plus 2 freight wagons. Thinking about it a, 3 coach train and 2 freight wagons will be a better train length.
For a good few reasons, one of them being. I am not happy with the track geometry at the other end and shortening the loops will fix that nicely.
Others being Arosa, Langwies and Chur stations can all be a bit shorter too then.

A shot from my favorite chair as I had a nice cup of tea and watched today’s train go round and round. The shorter train still looks pretty good to
Thanks Paul, its a lot more fun now working on the railway.Excellent pictures Stewie. Your very hard work is paying off nicely.
That's a wonderful, pleasing landscape that you have created there. Sitting there with your favourite drink must be very rewarding after all the hard work.A shot from my favorite chair as I had a nice cup of tea and watched todays train go round and round
Thanks Al, I sit out here after feeding the chooks (just down the yard) and have my morning cuppa. No trains running, just a very peaceful spot to sit and ponder. Working out which part I will start on next, sure is much easier and more fun than moving rocks, blocks, dirt and mixing cement or concrete. That's a wonderful, pleasing landscape that you have created there. Thanks Jon, good idea on the markers. There are so many details to add now, I think it will take years to get through. I will continue on with St Peters/Molinis station with the track mods then ballasting and platforms. After that I can have a crack at adding the catenary on this side, which I am really looking forward too.Lovely bit of Switzerland you are creating there, next up must be some signs etc. Another helpful one would be ‘fouling point indicators’ some lines just use a small red rock, some a small length of red rail, others more complex like this one a real one I liberated from an old closed line in Germany. Mounted just before where 2 rails converg at a point but so the regular trains do not sideswipe each other. I find the so useful for accurate stopping of trains when you intend to pass another. You will probably notice them now when looking at pictures of the real thing. For some unaccountable reason we do not tend to use them in UK.View attachment 350054
I always had lots of fun walking over the overhead, far too easy to catch the wires. I once saw Andy walking over the Ruschbahn overhead with his stonking great boots, he was not that steady on his feet in such a situation so I bared him from any such walking about. The wires that he damaged on the walk I saw him convinced him I was right, very rare for that to happen! It was too nice a day today to waste not working on the railway.

Yesterday I lifted some of the track and moved the point back from under the tunnel. Also moved the inside loop out a bit so its parallel to the other track and I can now fit a platform between them. Two of the besser blocks had dropped 3mm so i fixed them while I had the track up.

The new maximum train length for the line, is 1 loco and 4 long and 1 short wagons or 3 long and 3 short wagons.
This should make it interesting to operate later on, trying to fit in the days various traffic.
Should make for lots of marshalling at either end of the line. The kind of work real railways try to keep to a minimum, but I am trying to maximize.

Thinking about maintenance of the center area after the catenary is installed.
I realized I would need a large flat clear area to step up onto that wouldn't get easily damaged.
As the way I do it now would be asking to trip over and smash the catenary when its in.
So I removed the gravel and installed some more blocks instead. level with the top of the rail.
The real station has a large tarmac area between the station building and siding too.
I also slightly adjusted the siding while I was at it, its now a tighter radius and closer to the edge.

Station area trackwork all finished and secured, ready to start adding platforms and ballasting next.
I did a bit of moving plants around, I think it should look better with a bit more greenery in the corner near the crossing.
It doesn't look like I achieved much but, it sure took all day to do.
Doggo unable to be a pest, umm I mean help with the watering.
