Some time ago my green sachsen stopped in the station with smok pouring out of the cab
Not too good a sign. But prior to this it sounded like a analogue motor on digital.
Asked for advice then and the opinion was run it and that was the result blown the mother board.
So now with a XL decoder fitted it shows the same fault.
Can a motor blow a chip . Thought the board could handle faults
It does draw a few more amps than normal
It sounds like the front motor.
The program module shows everything is ok and it made one lap round the garden bur I am reluctant
to go any further

Oh Yus. :(
Nemo had this problem with a twin motor LGB Loco last year, I think his was a Saxon-Meyer.
A contaminated motor caused a couple of components to fail on the LGB factory decoder inclusive main board.
Isolate the suspected motor and run it on no load. It should take around 0.1A to 0.15A removed from the motor housing or up to around twice as much if still inside the motor block and driving the wheels and valve gear.

Out of daftness Phil, have you checked the mechanical side rather than the lecy side.
Could be something binding, causing a strain on one of the motors.

Thankss Gord yes I have checked that

Cheers Neil more good news :wits::nerd:

On the plus side I have a new motor

At least the XL has overload protection...which should prevent completely burning out the decoder.

sounds good now.new motor
