This blokes prices are a joke. He wants £11.99 for instruction books you can download & last year he wanted £200 for a 2003 cat (Very rare).

We've got a 2005 cat he can have for much less than £200.

Last year I sold off all my old LGB catalogues, around 13 or 14 of them. I sold them off one at a time with starting prices of 99p, including some that he had for £50 or more. I bet that really miffed him as they all sold for reasonable prices circa £6 - £12. (one went for £20 but there were two bidders each desperate to wit)

Oh, is this the seller trying to flog Playmobil and Toytrain leaflets etc. for £12 + (I can't look at these ebay links @ work). Those have been going round for months and months, I just cannot figure out why the seller thinks they're worth so much. 99p would be more reasonable if someone needed one to complete a set or something.

Still got my 2003 catalogue, cost me £11 at the time.

Yep, that's the chap, Nick.

I have my big 2003 catalogue too - the landscape-format hardcover one with the ring bound pages - which is the first one I bought when I re-started collecting LGB for my second time around. I only wish it WAS worth £200..... &:

Jon.

They were giving the 2003 catalogue free in Nurnberg in 2006 at the last open weekend

One has to wonder at his motives. I guess if anyone is prepared to pay his price he makes a windfall.....

If the item does not sell then he would have to pay the listing fee and for what?
Very strange indeed......

And he pays too much for his cardboard boxes (he would have us believe):rolf::rolf::rolf::rolf::rolf:

Free listing last weekend might account for some of the unbelievable starting prices. It's amazing how many sellers don't read the full terms & conditions and still end up paying the normal fees for things like reserve price and 'buy it now'. With reference to the later posting I get my cardboard mailing boxes from the 99p shop (packs of 4, 2 or single depending on size). Great for storage too!!

Re post 11, I occasionally sell Plastic LGB wheels via Ebay. Always start at 99p, sometimes that is what they go for other times as much as £8.00 for 4 axles. Crazy I know but that is what getting into a bidding war can get people to do. Mad but I love it when a plan comes together. You just need two idiots in a bidding war. I never make them do it!
