These beautiful evenings are a real boon to some twilight and night running. Just love it. Who would have thought that we would have a week of such gorgeous weather with temps around 18C in the evening!

Got the tewo truck shay out and some lumber and let her dawdle around the layout mainline

you sure you live in England????LOL

Re:Yay its a Shay!

Lots of atmosphere in thos shots. I really like the way you have detailed your layout. I dread to think of the amount of time you must invest in its care and maintainance.
Max.

Re:Yay its a Shay!

Thank you boys for the nice comments.

Well Max, as Richie knows (who has come down and visited Beaver Creek) sometimes I take care...and sometimes.....well....let's say....I perhaps. let things ...slide a little. The problem is with all the detail, if I don't keep on top of it, it can get to be a whole pile to sort out.
So I have, this year, after a hell of a rush to get ready for our July open day, adopted a policy of little and often. That way, the rest of my life can also happen!

Yes it is England Steve, but with this last week of weather...brilliant sunshine up to 29ºC (85ºF) during the day and about 16 to 18ºC (64ºF) during the night, one would probably need to ask! We will apparently get a record 30ºC today (1st October).
We have been lucky in East Anglia as the North and West have not had the whole week like this.

Any Shay is good Shay

always a source of fascination, but photographed from the wrong side ??

If you can't see the cylinders, you'll have to run it in reverse :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Re:Yay its a Shay!

Hi Mike
Had my Westside Lumber shay running yesterday with the log train but found the loco kept cutting out found the problem to be the tiny hex screws on the track joiners had worked loose due to the heat :wits: . Once they were tight all was fine looked nice running in the dark with the fire glow
