Hi All, Not trying to hijack this post, but some may be interested in my display layout I take annually to the Caulfield Model Train Exhibition, Melbourne Victoria. Here are some pictures from a year or so ago display.

Overall display. 2 x G scale tracks around the edge, 1 HO track around the brown-roofed house (really supposed to be a Gn15 as Nellie is on the track), 1 G scale track for the 'round-house' (the green roofed structure in the distance), 1 N scale track around a garage building and a G scale track for the Dr Suess loco and village. The golliwog band on the pier was a favorite with the kids.

Here Percy awaits his turn on the tracks, while Thomas and carriages work the inner track. The N scale track can be seen with a 7 1/4" gauge Percy in the back of the truck/lorry. Nellie and her home-made carriages sneak behind the house.

The Dr Suess loco and carriage circle Suess village 'Whoville'. Daisy - a home made version - sits in the background of the display.

Close-up of the Suess loco. The kids love picking out the various characters - while the oldies seem to wander past with a bemused look on their faces. That changes when they see the Shay in the next picture.
.

This is a 3-truck Shay kit-bashed to reflect locos that were re- built to carry their shed with them in the inclement weather conditions of North America.(Relevance to the display - none !)
Detail of the farmers market and Nellie
Sadly, the layout (although it has changed a bit since this display) will not be making an appearance at this years show in August as we will be swanning about in the UK and Ireland.
