if anyone interested, i just picked up my "wanted" item i have wanted for 5 years..
Yes there was a 25% commission charge but some people got some bargains, I reckon some shop owner was there as there was profit in some pieces for some. what were you after ? I ended up paying £520 (inc comm) for what i wanted, have seen it elsewhere for £1000. Hope it works! i just need to buy some rack track and then i can start my new build project in the new house.Took so long to register, the only lot I was interested in had gone (and for a daft price anyway, even dafter after adding in the extra costs).
Ah, I wasn't looking too seriously - apparently my wife didn't actually want a Mikado as her surprise birthday present tomorrow!Yes there was a 25% commission charge but some people got some bargains, I reckon some shop owner was there as there was profit in some pieces for some. what were you after ? Usually pretty much as soon as they've gone.I must admit, I have never considered the auction houses..
How long before you can see what things went for?

Interesting - my Sky Broadband Shield has blocked access to this site due to it falling into the category of Weapons, Violence, Gore and Hate! Clearly best to avoid the disgruntled losing bidders!Auction search | Wilson55.com | Auctioneers & Valuers

yes, they specialists in Millitary (guns etc) but hate is a bit stong for them sky, more sky Tv channels would fall into that ! , The bidding was also on a site called The sales room but they charged a lot more commision.Interesting - my Sky Broadband Shield has blocked access to this site due to it falling into the category of Weapons, Violence, Gore and Hate! Don't know what you've managed to buy, but I have a large quantity of LGB rack rail 10210 and rail holders 10220 if you are looking for some. Hi Kev congrats on the red malletWhat a sale. It’s been a long time since I have seen so much LGB stuff in one place……but did you see the prices!!. I bid high for the Mikado, but chickened out as I had bid on some other items. In the end I got a nice Red Mallet and a couple of smaller loco’s. The Pola and Faller kits went sky high…….Ho Hum!

So.....now I know why my bid didn't make it for the zugspitze loco set.......lol. I did get the Mixnitz-St. Erhard set though.Hi Kev congrats on the red mallet
Picked up my Zugspitze bahn loco yesterday, dont know about your stuff but it is brand new, never even seen a track before, the only thing that looks old are the staples in the Manuel (tad rusty) but seeing at this kit is 1997/1998 (25 years old) just done a test and all working. I had a word with the lady on the desk at the auctioneers and they didnt have a clue to what they were and no clue as to the source. I thought that the zugspitze loco set was going to be out of my price range (they go for £1000+ second hand and always in the USA) so concentrated on the Mixnitz-St. Erhard set, I chickened out on it when it got above my budget. When the Zugspitze came up i got giddy when the bidding just stopped so triggered !, Think i have been watching too many episodes of Antiques Road trip !
Those LGB Red Mallets are quite rare and very desirable. Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for that in the end? What a sale.
