Wild Rose ~ Quarry Hunslet

Live Steam, Live Diesel
Back in December 2015 I decided to build Dave Watkins' Wild Rose III as my next loco build project. It's scaled-up for 45mm gauge, and then a bit more for 1" scale.

Finally, here's the chassis running on air. Oh yes, I decided to make it with oscillating cylinders...

Best wishes,
Dave

Not quite sure why you would do that and why the drive is to the centre of the Con Rod makes it very Snowdon Rack like. But it is a great project and looks very fine, the running on Air is superb and I wonder if that is anything to do the the central drive and of course attention to fine accurate standards during construction. Look forward to seeing her running under Steam.

I wanted to build another large cylindered oscillator, as the previous one (on my profile picture) was so successful. The drive point is so that the amount of waggle is just right, and it's also raised to keep the cylinder horizontal.

Best wishes,
Dave
