Wickham Show. Saturday October 31st 2015

Would have liked to come along, Alan, but sadly it's the same day as the Exeter show for which we've already booked and paid for accommodation......

Used to go - 'twas always a good 'un

Needed a GOOD excuse, but am currently out of excuses :emo::emo::emo:

Took a few photographs on the day. Below are some of the award winning Hambleden Valley Railway. I must confess it was the first time I have seen this layout. It is absolutely enchanting. I have never seen live steam being run so slowly with such complete control. To see live steam shunting was a joy. The photographs are not as sharp as I would have liked. The light was such that to get a reasonable shutter speed I have to use a wide appature, resulting in a shallow deapth of field.

Also present was the Timpdon Lake Railway. This is actually from the dark side, 16mm, but the modelling is brilliant. I have seen and photographed this layout many times but I always feel inspired by it. I took the additional photos below just to inspire me to be a better modeller.

Last but not least some photographs of Kleinback. Again I have seen this layout many times, always worth a viewing as it combines trams, running in the street, with a railway. It shows what can be achieved with R1 pointwork. According to the show blurb this will peobably be its last outing, as Andy Saulter is planning a new and improved layout.

Despite the lighting limitations, a great set of photos; thank you for sharing them.

The detail on Timpdon Lake is stunning!

Erm, why is the donkey looking up the blokes bum?
I just love the sense of humour most modellers share, no matter what nationality.

Hee haw... hee haw... hee hawt to know better than that.....

More of Hambleden. I agree - the running with live steam was brilliant,
