]I mentioned earlier, that I wanted to install a smoke generator in a 2095 loco. I've begun the installation and have some photos to show.

Batteries for the R/C equipment. I wanted to be able to turn the smoke on and off at will. The batteries are power for the receiver, which I am waiting to receive in the mail.

Well, my R/C equipment arrived this morning. While I was supposed to be working on the bench for SWMBO, I needed her approval for some details on the legs for it. So since she is out doing things with the grandchildren, I thought it best to utilize my time productively. Here are a couple more pictures of the work. I have completed the installation and will upload to Youtube if the weather clears. Since tonight is Halloween, it may have to wait until the ghosts and goblins retreat to their respective lairs.

Well, superlatives fail me... your wiring is so precise and neat. I'll watch with interest the results of the smoker, it too looks crisp and professional. Does it pulse the smoke? Where didyagetit and emachisit?
I like the way you have placed the battery too, I have just ordered a 4800mha one for the steam tram to give me a bit more room.... Thus inspired by your work I'll now have to do a rewire just to keep up.....
The keyfob single channel switch is brilliant too, an eBay effort?

Thanks Trev. The smoke generator and circuit board are USA Trains. I ordered them directly from them. It's not a pulse, rather a steady stream of smoke. The eight ganged AAA batteries are power for the receiver. The small Li-on battery, in the fuel tank, is power for the smoke unit. The R/C equipment is from http://choochoostuff.homestead.com/RF-REMOTE-CONTROLS.html

I had some time today to test the loco in the garden. A bit windy, so the smoke doesn't show up as well. The video needs some editing as it's too long for my taste.

I have had the same experience with smoke, best results on a calm day with minimum speed.....
I had a look at the R/C gear in the link. That would be good for point control or anything really that needed switching on/off. eBay has the single channel one cheap....http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-CH-RF-...o_Control_Vehicles&hash=item35a3f345e4&_uhb=1
I'm thinking of using them in momentary mode for triggering "events", one of the 6 channel jobs would work for me.... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/6-CH-Rem...H_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item3a747894cc&_uhb=1

Wow, that's a great price ! Quite a bit less than I paid. I had not seen this particular brand in my Ebay searches.
