WHIZZY comes to the 'Pakefield Joint Railway'

Too much of a good thing is nearly enough.

Those of you that are avid readers of the Private Sales Section may recall this battery powered 'scratchbodge' loco was offered recently by Roly. I thought it would be just the thing for the kids to operate to save all the worry when they 'drive' the more valuable stuff.

However, even children have some good taste and it was certain the little Whizzycranks couldn't stay in such a state.
So the team set about rubbing her down and filling up any dents and holes.

I then had the idea that she needed something to haul, but all my fleet livery tram trailers are bogied.
So trailer no.82 was selected to be repainted to match...as I am not a great fan of the blue/white anyway

The same day no.82 was well advanced in undercoat

WHIZZY as she was now known, that nickname just stuck, was allocated road number 15 and was well advanced in the paintshops by the weekend

After the apllication of a 'Cheapo' nameplate (no cast brass stuff here ) a few detailing bits picked out she was given a couple of coats of varnish.
This morning the resplendant set ventured out onto the tracks for the first time

I am really pleased with the result, she looks so good I think the 'big children' will be using her as well.

Smart job on both the loco and trailer.

Looking good. Is the livery a tribute to LCT?

Thanks for the kind comments.....and you are correct viaEstecha the home livery is a bit of a tribute to the Lowestoft Corporation buses that used to run to Pakefield. The buses were more of a deep maroon than chocolate, but the adverts on my trams are actually copies of those carried on the buses, as shown on this photo.
They have a permanant place in my heart as I used to drive them.....and actually drove the last one into the garage when the company closed in December 1977!

Another superb engine for the home fleet Syd!
I think you should let 'WHIZZY' have a try at hauling a bogie coach though
.....after all if a liitle switcher can manage it, I am sure she can.
