What size diodes do I need for the LGB shuttle unit?

Whether "size" is the correct word or not, I don't know, but it's not physical size but electrical size. Looking at the diode in a piece of split track, it bears the legend 1N5400, but querying for this on cpc's site there is no diode which actually matches. There are 1N5401 and other variations beginning with 1N540 and some are described as standard recovery diodes and some as something else. So which do I need? I will be using the shuttle units with an early LGB Spremberger and various Playmobil locos, one of which has two motors.

Can anyone help, please?

3 amps or more and 50 volts or more. One must remember that the back emf of a motor can hurt electronics so the higher the voltagg the better!! I use 100 volt diodes.
