UK/US/ROW steam narrow gauge railways 1:1
Country flag
As I have beeen lurking around here for a while I thought I might summon up the courage to upload a few pictures of my "railroad". As you might note there is a bit of the old Colorado thing going on here this afternoon. My lihghtly bashed Connie has been busy with the 3 p.m. varnish and freight (is that the right term ?) However if you take shots from different vantage points then there is a distinct UK/Darjeeling narrow gauge thing going on too. I'll post some of those another time if you like.

Get postin'

Great, really like the look of your line. Love the first pic with the loco bursting out of the undergrowth. Also like the mine and town scenes.
More please!

love it, more please sir!!!

Really nice....

Thank you for the kind and encouraging comments. Everybody who has visited likes the bit where the trains burst into veiw from behind the trees. There is a veritable little forest on dwarf and slow growing conifers around here. Here are some pictures for those inclined towards the L&B. This garden is around 23' wide X 12' deep (+ a little bit round a corner for the sidings). I hope I am not getting too carried away here.

Darj and RGS
must be a gemini!

nice pics and layout

i just wondered how long u have to adjust track to bring a Bachmann Connie through a LGB Bridge.
I fear i missed in thinking that bridge would never allow this....

(also running US-Stuff)

That looks fantastic and your railway sits really nicely in your garden. Please do keep the pictures coming!

Great railway. Do you have one side of the garden that has UK scenery and accessories and the other US, or do you have to change the buildings as well as the rolling stock? Whichever - it's a great result.

The Connie and those Jackson Sharpe coahes goes right through the bridge no trouble and the approach is on a 4' radius curve !

The bit with the "US" scenery is in the sidings area. The UK stuff is dotted around the layout, there are some very confused RGS crews on this line - "I don't think we are in Kansas anymore Toto".

I started building the layout 5 years ago. After a lot of fiddling it ended up a folded over figure of eight with the crossing on the flat and some sidings spuring off at one side. I have gradually built up the "forest" as I have gone along. The problem is now my logging team are starting to eye up some of the little trees.

Question is: who will be first?
I have some empty logging disconnects and many empty flats.....might be worth a trip. And before there will be a logging race, i might have some thoughts of stealing the rods or kidnap the crew....

Greetings

Frank

More pictures in a few days - the logging train. Can't let all you rustling varmints run off with all mah darn trees. Otherwise real world work intervenes for the time being.

Got an early pass from work today. So here are a few shots of the logging train. Note to those planning any log rustling - beware the guard cat Izzy !
