Wellington Running Day at Ian W's.

:) A brilliantly fine, and warmish, day for a first time visit to a 'new' railway on our groups' circuit.

Let's start with the all clear from the signal at Neas Creek.

The MacEwan Pratt crossing the truss bridge.

What's this doing here ?

A worker at Neas Creek depot.

Chris's latest, chasing the railtruck off the bridge.

..and finally, some quick work by the signalman, restoring the signal back to Danger after the railtruck has departed.

All in all, a good day had by all. Thanks Ian.

It was a great afternoon indeed Gav, the fruit cake was great too. ;D
So lets start my piccies with one of the host himself attending to his Accucraft NG 16.

Ian's Accucraft NG16 has reach pressure as his scratchbuilt McEwan Pratt railcar and trailer pass through Neas Creek.

And through Whits End. All buildings are scratchbuilt.

In the afternoon sun the return loop at Whits End end of the railway is a perfect spot for photos.

The railcar is still chasing my Bush Jigger this time on the opposite end, Whits End, return loop.

You've just got to admire the workmanship on Ian's railcar. Hmm and the whole railway!

That industrial diesel Stainz has a certain charm about it.

It has certain charm Gordon. Not unkown here that old steam locos got fitted with diesel power plants when boilers etc got past their use by dates!

Manawanui coming of Neas Creek return loop. Check out the windmill.

Last photo from me is Ian's McEwan Pratt railcar and trailer on that favourite photo spot on Whits End return loop.

Thanks from me too to Ian and Christine for a most enjoyable afternoon :)

Some series nice trains here. Thanks for sharing.

Nice photos in a nicely done setting. I really like the Stainz-Diesel!

8) Such exquisite modelling deserves its own photo, without distraction of the passing trains.

This is a faithful replica of the old Kaiwarra station on the Wellington-Hutt Valley Line. The original got removed when the Tawa Flat Line was added to this area just before WWII.

Some nice shots Gavin and John - and the buildings look realy good too!

Some really impressive modelling in evidence - love that station building - could easily be dropped into a light railway in the UK
