Sunday 12th August and the Wellington Garden Railway Group made it's annual pilgrimage to the Wayne H's extensive indoor DR themed empire. A perfect place to be on a wet and cold Sunday afternoon.

That's Wayne on the right. Top and bottom stations fill on side of the 7mx7m room.

A better idea of the length/width of the top station.

And the middle station. Brian & Dave in discussion.

It's mainly an operators layout, but good for some horsing around too.

Wayne's a builder, and a builder's house is never finished :'(

Loco depot at the bottom station.

Shunting at the bottom station.

"Look - it's got wheels underneath!" 8|

"And this one has wheels too" says Brian W. "Aarrrh" wisely muses Brian R.

"And see you put them on the track like this" explains Brain W. Phil raises his glasses in concentration in the background.

"Oh I see" says Doug, "this one has wheels too."

Meanwhile back at the top station...

More of Wayne's work is on show. Much rolling stock is scratch built.

And here are some awaiting painting....

And more nearing completion.

Some of that scratchbuilt stock looks great :) What an empire! I'd be tempted to ballast it though, although I guess that would only amplify the noise indoors!

Chloe and her little train in the station we're visiting (Chris's train).

Pig nose railcar and most else pictured are Wayne's....

...except for Brian W's tram loco and trailer car. And yes all rolling stock pictured in this topic have wheels :-)

Thanks to Wayne and Diana for another fun filled afternoon.

Wayne's quality makes them indiscernible from LGB's stuff (better even). I understand Wayne imports his invisible ballast from the Ruritanian Railways quarry.

Well I'm no clearer this year as to the track plan, but its great to see Waynes layout again - thanks for posting.

Hehe, neither am I. Wayne has changed it again from last time. I'll see if I can get some sort of plan from him. Basically it's two loops with cross over between top station loop and bottom station loop occurring at the middle station. Hope that helps 8|

mmm nice:thumbup:
