I think that perhaps that points to fewer folks being able to afford to go (especially after I looked at the train times/prices).

The Warley NEC show will have 90 layouts, 157 traders, 51 modelling societies, 12 preservation societies, 14 demonstrations and 26 other displays. That's a lot per £ compared to other exhibitions. Concessions stopped some years ago.

And of course some large scale traders including GRS, Roundhouse, My loco sound, Gaugemaster and Accucraft
 
Will be there this year. Unlike last when I managed to go a week late. Well, the BBC Food Show was fun. Especially after I'd bludged a free entry ticket. Yum, yum. Max.
 
The G Sclae Central forum will be represented with Minimans Round Robin wagon on display complete with some mementos. My snow plow will also be on display on the same shelf of the display cabinet. Ok the snowplow isn't a highly detailed model but it is unique and it is used to clear real snow. I will have electronic picture frames showing photos both wagons in action.
Hopefully this will provide good publicity for garden railways in general and GSC in particular to around 18,000 railway modelers.

Snow plow in action. I have to confess that the snow was too deep in the top photo and I gave up after only clearing a small section of track. On other occasions the plow has been really good at its job. As I use track power it can only run when the temperature is above about 2 degrees centigrade otherwise the rails ice over as soon as the snow is cleared. Also - it has to be the right type of snow.

Well what a show! I think we had G covered pretty well with Walt's Playmobil, Mike and Phil on the Society stand with Rule 8 and Our mob with the 'scale' (ish) model :)

I thought at first Walt had Mike dressed up as Santa on his stand but turns out it was a large Playmobil figure!

Nice to meet you finally Mike and the best G scale Society display for a few years to be honest. Good to catch up with Phil too.

So Sud Harz has retired and nothing planned to replace it, although I do have a small idea . . . . and for a change it is actually small!!

From your first post to this thread, I assume that you already have a new owner lined up for Sud Harz - do you know if they will continue to take it around the shows?

Oh come on.... standard Playmobile figures are taller than Mike.

More space (bigger aisles), a lot more chairs (though not enough tables), less total exhibits.. Possibly (according to traders) less custom this year.

Still, at least you could get to see things.

I spent ages looking for small BA nut spinners.. Finally had to settle for an Expo set of metric sizes.. Wasn't until I got them home and looked at the back of the packaging...
