As the title says...wanted.... the earlier 1235 R3ish 3 way points...NOT the current 12360 R1ish. For a group layout.

The picture shows on the left, the R3 ish point we want, the right is the later R1ish unit we don't!

Don't mind without point motors or hand levers, even some slight repairable damage

the earlier 1235 R3ish 3 way points

I know I have a three-way point in my box of spare track. I don't know which version it is. The only issue is that the box is behind lots of other stuff in the garage, so I'm not sure how soon I can go and check whether it's the one you want.

Cheers

David

Yes, the curves are tighter than R3, which is why I called it R3ish!
The curvature on both sides is 22.5 degrees, making it match up with LGB R3 curves

No hurry with looking for the buried box of track with possibly a 1235 point

As a brief aside - does anyone know why they changed the geometry of this (or at least didn't offer both?)

Basically because most LGB owners wanted a 3-way point that "worked" with R1 radius 30 degree curve geometry.

Also the 1235 item was not manufactured directly by LGB, but made for LGB by AZB in Switzerland (along with the 1225 double slip), so there was probably more margin in it for LGB by producing it in house.

Pretty sure one of these came up this week on one of the various g scale facebook groups/pages. They were selling a newer R1 version and the old one.

Edit - Found it :)

Yup the one on the right looks to be the thing, you can tell by the 3 gaps in sleepers from the blade left blade to the actuating arm rather than the 2 on the left one which is r1.

Thanks. Contacting the vendor. Price for a 3 way point without motors perhaps on the high side. Used lgb point motor currently on eBay with several bids for £18, plus post.
Saw a box load recently much less than that. Shoulda bought em and moved them on!

I was unable to contact the vendor....the facebook group was just a chat page...and all sales were banned. Perhaps the post has been 'moderated'
So still looking for 1235 22.5 degree 3 way points

Thanks for rummaging at the back of your garage!

Malcolm

I think these are plastic points from ‘toy’ sets. Not often seen.
I’m still after the 3 way points, older 1235 product not the current 12360 unit.
