I am looking for two front pilot steps (with complete brackets) and a coupler (metal) from a Bachmann 45 tonner diesel.
I have many types of Bachmann coupler but the one on the 45 tonner is very specific and not compatible with other Bachmann 1:20.3 items.

A (poor quality) pic of the parts Mike would like to obtain...

I reused mine on the slimmed down loco and only have the side steps left. I might have an identical coupler - minus mounting - will have a look in the shed.

Hi Mike have found the coupling (no body mounting). If that will suffice, just send me a PM with your address and I'll post tomorrow.

That's the one....great stuff Mick
Now just the step units to find... I have inserted a picture of them in the first posting on this thread

Mike, the coupler is compatible with other Spectrum locos and rolling stock and has a clever design but Bachmann did not say anything about it in the instructions! - The whole coupler housing slides out from underneath and then can rotated 180 degrees and slid back it, then unscrew the coupler and refit rotated 180 degrees and it is at the Spectrum (Fn3) standard height!

Not quite Steve
By 'compatibility' I was meaning that it is not possible to swap in a coupler assembly from another Bachmann loco.
The 45 tonner mounting plate is totally different from other Bachmann locos. It is similar in concept to the Accucraft AP-11730 coupling but even shorter in body.
It has no rear portion and only the front part that bolts to the pilot beam.
The coupler itself is a metal short shanked variety with a small centring spring also totally unlike any other Bachmann coupler (I have tons of different types covering all Bachmann variants to compare)

Anyheww.....
Mick was kind enough to send me and new coupler so that requirement was solved but I still would like to find the two steps before having to build them myself.
As they are pretty vulnerable at the front they would best be built from soldered brass strip.

Hi Mike. I bought what I think was a complete body for one of these about 4 years ago. I can't specifically remember seeing the steps or for that matter where I've actually put the box the bits are in. If you're not in too much of a hurry bear with me and I'll have a look when I have a whole day to spare to conduct a search.

Hi Mike
That would be very very decent of you sir.

It seems to be the Mick and Mikes show!
