After many years of nearly poking mine, and others' eyes out, extracting aerial from nostrils and looking like I have a light sabre in my hands, I would like to substitute the extending aerial/antenna for a 'rubber duck' type.

I have scoured the web but can only find ones with coaxial or BNC connectors.
Does any one know of a source with the threaded bolt female end that Aristo uses?
Or does anyone have a spare rubber duck?
(not this type of rubber duckI)

Just a guess is it an SMA (or reverse SMA) connector?

What frequency does it work on? I thought these worked on 27MHz, but couldn't find any available at my normal electronic supplier sources. I'd suggest searching for "xxMHz Whip Antenna" on google.

Having swapped my old TE antenna out in the dark and distance past (before I went to the 'DARK SIDE'), I recall that these do not have a connector at all, but a screw terminal connection to the PCB....

Same here on my 13 year old example. Broke my antenna a while back. a quick trip to Maplins and got one offf the shelf. Little devil a Halfords job, saves poking eyes out. Max
