Wanted... Aristo FB bodyshell for a cut'n'shut project

Brixham

No buffers were hurt at this sign
Country flag
As the title states....I fancy an alternate to the FA..the export model DL500

As sold to Spain, Greece, and other countries around the world.....and in my alternate History Of The World....the UK

So I'm looking for an (ab)used Aristo FB bodyshell ( with/without chassis plate ) in any livery. Motor blocks not required.
But end sections needs to be reasonable ( allowing for a practice run..then a final version )

If I can't make the second cab end..then I won't have wasted too much time and/or ££££££

The idea is to graft this cab end onto a complete FA bodyshell ( ignoring the original driver door position discrepancy )

If this is successful, then a 12 wheel chassis of some description then needs sourcing ( LGB 2055 ideal )

USA Trains made the larger 12 wheel PA version which would have the correct bogies so you might want to find one of these for the chassis. I think the nose is longer though, so the Aristo cabs may work better for your project.

The LGB White Pass bogies are a larger scale than the Aristo loco and would be too big, plus they have the pivot point at one end to allow them to go around R1 which means they need a lot of clearance.

As a 'bodge'..I had though of using 4 wheel bogies and having a floppy pony truck...a 1BB1..possibly with LGB2055 sideframes

The PA noses are far longer...the DL500 is an FA with an extra section bolted on
And the PA needs 8ft diameter curves.....I was hoping the EDL1500 would be ok on R2 or larger

But the chassis is a later project, if a successful EDL1500 bodyshell can be cobbled together

The USAT 3 axle bogies are effectively what you are proposing as one axle is on a pivot. The LGB 2055 bogies are longer to fit the larger diameter wheels LGB use.
