Very little LGB around right now...?

Just as a discussion point, has anyone else noticed that there is precious little LGB stuff on UK evilBay at the moment? Aside from a few overpriced buy-it-now items from dealers that will just go round and round till they find the right mug, out of curiosity I've just looked right through the G section and there are hardly any locos and relatively few pieces of rolling stock. I know it's around the time that folks get all their post-Christmas bills to pay, but I'd have actually thought that would encourage MORE second-hand sales of stuff rather than fewer.
Anyone noticed a similar trend around this time in previous years....?

German eBay still seems as healthily-stocked with nice things as always!

Jon.

i personally think they will be a lot for sale ,sooner, or later, due to the econimic climet. as folks gets despert for money, to pay bills, the toys will be sold..

Yeah, I bought most of it, sorry! :)

Honestly, I keep a very close eye on eBay for potential bargains, but I haven't come across anything really good for ages.
Best thing I got recently was a Gustav Hand Card for £30 Buy-It-Now a couple of months back.

Certainly not much LGB on UK eBay, but then it always is scarce compared to eBay Germany. Possibly due to UK eBay's high charges. Just possibly due to the excellent free service for private sales and "things wanted" on GSC (end of commercial!)

Defenatly a shortage......I havent seen a 2-10-2 for under £500 for ages:rolf::rolf::rolf::rolf::rolf::rolf:

What shortage?

It alright i have just had a rumage down the sofa and found, half a bag of crisps, a lolly stick and £1.35 in loose change so im in:bigsmile::bigsmile:

I guess since the economic stuation has been bad for over 3 years now and many people who had money problems have already sold most of their LGB. Plus the majority of LGB collectors are retired so have not had to worry about jobs and have a more steady income.

Most LGB I've been watching on ebay seems to of sold for quite low prices recently which combined with the high ebay and Paypal fees probably deters many sellers from taking the risk of selling with an ebay auction.

Hi all
I have to agree that there is little on Ebay at present, but Ebay global certainly has its fair share of kit, the only trouble is ,you have to take into account the postage from outside the UK (and some of those are excessive) .Even Saleroom.com has no listings for LGB at present and that's unusual for them.
Seen better deals here on the forum........but Iam never quick enough to grab a sale!!!
Have a good weekend
Kev

At least it shows that not many G Scalers have gone to the wall which must be a good thing. Or people are holding onto their stuff in case they cannot afford to replace it with something they would rather have now ? I have been looking for a Spremberger for ages ,for the Seehafen Bahn but I haven't come across one I liked.

Garry - I have an MTS-fitted black Spremberger from a 2003 digital start set, that might be up for grabs if you want it? PM me and make me an offer I can't refuse...?

Got mine for a bid of £1001, the one that was being sold off here for Ipswich Transport Museum a couple of years ago. Mint condition, factory sound, lovely! First and only time I've paid four figures for a loco, mind....

Jon.

Class machine though - not bad with sound and all.
Bet it makes you smile.

i think there might be one less loco anbout in york, tommorow:bigsmile::rolf::rolf::rolf:

Mmmm what little there is still seems to attract very good prices.....

Hsb coach for £170 + £8 P&P Now to me that's almost new retail??

These coaches seem to have fetched a silly price (more than new retail) as someone has put an OTT bid on them. Generally I think prices are quite low. I have some items to sell but watching the prices that similar items have been sold for I can wait a bit longer.
