Wind died down so I could get out without fear of frostbite. Had a good run with the rotary I made last year. I'll post a video over in the video forum of it.
The town is still snowed in though.

That first pic looks brilliant Jerry :thumbup:
Do you happen to have a close up of your Rotary cutting head as i'm looking at building a new Rotar for mine .

Thanks Richie. Blade is from a small vacuum cleaner, about 4" in diameter, a large wing nut is on the front to hold it on. I'll attach a few pictures of the build, may have posted them here last year, but not sure.

Many thanks Jerry for the pics have been looking at impellers on hoovers as they look just the right size (not long got rid of a old hoover :wits: ) Have got a 24v geared motor coming so hope to be ready for the next snow fall .

Thanks Alan, figured it was on here someplace.

Richie, you want it to spin real fast. Ron Senek advised me to use a 18 volt battery with my 12 volt drill motor that I used, and that works fine. I did have to cut down the blade just a bit to fit in the plastic pipe cap that I used for the housing, the made the square around that.

Hi Jerry
The motor that i have on order is a 24v 6:1 geared motor with a out put of ........
12v = 1316rpm with 709grms of torque
24v = 2633rpm with 926grms of torque
so i hope this should do the job have got a hub that bolts onto the motors drive shaft which can then be bolted to the new fan which i'm still looking for need one 90mm will try the local electric store this week end for a hoover fan .

What about a computer cooling fan for the impeller? they come in all sorts of sizes and are cheap as chips or free if you have an old computer!!
