Troublesome Truck conversion

I could have sworn I'd seen a picture somewhere on GSC of a private-owner conversion of a Bachmann Troublesome Truck open wagon, but the Search facility hasn't turned it up. Apologies therefore to the original poster, since the conversion shown below isn't an original idea of mine.

Kelly's Directory for Cornwall, 1909 edition lists among other advertisers Bishop and Peter, General Merchants of Looe. The firm had depots at Moorswater, at the junction with the L and CR, and on the quay at Looe itself, and supplied sand, lime, coal, manure and timber. They were an ideal candidate for a PO conversion. The Troublesome Truck is less so, being of generous proportions for my purposes.

From the original advertisement, Chris Moxham has produced his usual excellent artwork, applied to the wagon as shown. My sole contribution was to remove the face from the end door.

All the best,

Alec K

Nice looking PO wagon, Alec.
Old copies of Kelly's are so useful if you want authentic traders' names for the area where your layout is set.

Thank you, one and all. I will pass on the kind remarks to Chris, who always has an advance viewing of the end results of his design work.
If anyone is interested, I have pasted below the link direct to the on-line Kelly's Directory resource:

http://www.historicaldirectories.org/ < Link To www.historicaldirectories.org/

Hopefully, the link will work, but if not, just enter it into the browser window. There are other directories on the site as well, but because the process of gathering them and then reading them onto PDFs is a lengthy one, coverage is, as yet, not nationwide.

[Edit: thanks, Gordon - I knew I'd seen this type of work somewhere on here]

All the best

I was just thinking that too Neil.

Incidentally, the Thomas trucks are now available without the faces on.

So you can buy them without losing face :D.

Coat going on now.
