Hi all,Finally started the rebuild of the railroad, lots of R1s being changed to R3`s,,,,and planed trestle going in on one of the new curves, now i know some of you have already been there so any ideas on how to fit check rails?only want one on the inside rail,I know i have to allow for flanges etc but how to fit to the track itself?....glue,pin,screw, any ideas or practical help anyone can pass on?track is trainline 45 R3,and a few weeks away from doing the job,,garden looks a construction site at mo,much to SWMBO`s dismay, regards,Rio.:)

If you can get hold of some aristo track, and take the rail off that, it is drilled from the bottom every so often to fix it to the sleepers (ties)

I put my check rails against the face of the chair bracket, drilling the sleepers (ties) to suit the holes in the rail and re-using the little aristo screws - it looks about right for position, and sits a tad lower than the running rail :nod::nod:

That's pretty much what I've done for my bridge check rails. I did initially just glue the check rails on but after several failures of different glues I screwed them on with the little Aristocraft M2 screws. I my cas as the bridges are in place I drilled a 1.5mm hole down through the check rail foot and through the sleeper below then ran an M2 tap to thread the hole. Finally with patience I screwed the M2 screw in from below. Would have been so much easier on the work bench! ;)

Thanks for the replies,it seems this may be a solution and worth giving serious thought to,had hoped to use a screw fix method so this maybe the way to go,not even thought of building the actual bridge yet as still on the trackbeds(joyous:cry:) thanks again,Neil.;);)
