My wife asked what I was looking at, I said tram porn, she looked over and said thats not a Prague or Zargreb type tram, correct dear, then I went to far and suggested her training was starting to pay off, oops I said it allowed.

Not sure. Crich history says Brush, but later fitted to a P22 truck.

That is the epitome of what all transport museums should be like.... no piles of weed infested rotting wood, or rusting skeletons of whatever. Didn't spot any loud mouth knowitall slovenly dressed (with last week's curry stains on their t shirt) 'members' foul mouthing the others (and visitors).

I believe as a museum, they try to keep all exhibits as well presented as possible. They have off site storage for all the wrecks and possibly the curry stained volunteers as well for all I know...

Nother thing that irks me on these heritage groups, are the ill fitting, often anachronistic, uniforms, particularly caps. Peak hats/caps are meant to be worn above the ears, not over them.
If the hat fits, wear it, if it don't, then don't.

I've been a life member of the Tramway Museum for many years but living in Asia for many years and now isolated down here in the south east corner of the country I've only managed to visit the museum two or maybe three times.

Was booked for a visit last year with UK Railtours before Covid appeared which led to the trip being postponed three times. Trip has now been rescheduled for October 2nd so keeping my fingers crossed that nothing happens in the meantime so that I can enjoy an onboard full English breakfast on the way up and dinner on the way back.

Bought by Blackpool in around 1927-8 to haul main-line coal wagons from Fleetwood to a coal depot at Thornton Gate. The operation was not a huge commercial success and died out after WW2, however it did serve the purpose of keeping the main-line railways out of building a branch into the Bispham- Thornton - Cleveleys area. After the end of the coal service the loco became a rather underused maid-of-all-work for the Blackpool tramway.

It shows my age I remember seeing the Blackpool steeple cab tram at Thornton Gate with coal wagons that it had brought from Fleetwood.

I remember Thornton Gate being used as a PWay depot in its last years complete with all the Track and the odd Pway wagon or two. Not sure of the first date that I saw this, probably some time in the 80’s or 90’s. But sadly by then the loco had gone to Crich so any Pway loco work dragging wagons will have been carried out by a converted very old tram.
